We now are offering you the opportunity to have us come to your site with the boilerOptimizer programs to assist you in maximizing your system.
It has become evident that, even with the use of these boilerOptimizer programs, many plants neither have the time, personnel or other experience resources to conduct a detailed, effective energy audit of their own boiler system. We understand that the programs appear to be very detailed and complex and , in many cases, discourage the potential user from trying this solution.
However, once the original audit has been conducted and the local personnel shown how to conduct additional follow-up tests, the plant can continue to pursue new optimized operating targets to continue to save fuel costs.
A recent audit of this type in a large, complex paper mill, identified in excess of one million dollars that could potentially be recovered in annual fuel costs. The audit identified some problems that were well known to the mill but not quantified in terms of lost dollars until run through the Optimizer programs. Other problems that were unknown were also identified. In conjunction with the mill personnel, repair strategies were determined and new operating target parameters were established. Plant personnel, from departmental engineers through front line operators, were trained in the procedures and customized versions of the boilerOptimizer program were set up for each boiler.
Who created boilerOptimizer?
The primary creator of the boilerOptimizer is John Souvage. With a mechanical engineering background, John's career includes over 20 years as a staff consultant in fuel treatments and energy systems with one of the world's primary water treatment companies. Experience varied from the smallest firetube heating boilers to being the water treatment specialist on site for the commissioning of both of the Tar Sands boiler plants to providing computed assisted energy audits at several different provincially owned 100+MW power generation plants. John was an NACE qualified corrosion expert and was a world recognized specialist in oil refinery crude unit problems. He has taught and lectured on both corrosion engineering and energy computation at several universities and colleges. His energy audit computer programs were adopted and used by many divisions and countries within the water treatment company. John now owns and runs a computer based communication company in Burlington Ontario Canada.
